Dr. Genter, a Bucks County Botox specialist, offers injections to people wanting to restore their face back to their original, youthful appearance. Botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox, can be injected into a person’s facial muscles to relax facial expression lines to help restore a person’s face back to the beautiful appearance it once was. A Botox injection is the world’s most popular facial rejuvention procedure, and potential patients can rest assured that Dr. Genter is highly-skilled.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Botox in 1989 and it began showing its cosmetic potential immediately. Patients were administered injections by their doctors to treat muscle spasms. Ten years after initially hitting the cosmetic market, Botox has become one of the leading medical procedures in the United States. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), almost 800,000 Americans received injections in 2000. Women increasingly receive injections to correct imperfections on the lips, necks, and face including furrows between the eyebrows, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort from the injections. Though we do not usually administer anesthesia for Botox treatments, a numbing cream is applied to the area in certain circumstances. People will be able to see results within 3-5 days and the improvements tend to last around 3-5 months before having another injection.
It is common for plastic surgeons and cosmetic specialists to use Botox in combination with a wrinkle filler such as Juvederm, This combination is referred to as “Liquid Facelift.” Possible side effects at the site of the injection include redness and some minor pain. Our office sees patients from Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia. We also offer promotions and discounts on Botox treatments at our Philadelphia plastic surgery office.
