Price varies based on how much filler is needed for your treatment, but generally ranges from $500 – $800.
Juvederm: What is it made of?
Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural cell protector and skin hydrator that breaks down over time. To restore the lost volume and skin structure, we inject Juvederm into sunken areas of the skin where wrinkles have formed. Juvederm comes in several different formulas including Ultra, Ultra Plus and the new Juvederm Ultra XC with lidocaine for enhanced comfort.
Juvederm: What should I expect during treatment?
Philadelphia plastic surgeon Dr. Bruce Genter administers the injection into your tissue at a specific depth. If you think the injection will be particularly uncomfortable, he can use an anesthetic or nerve block during your treatment. Most Juvederm treatments are surprisingly comfortable.
The latest Juvederm formula contains a small amount of local anesthetic make your treatment more comfortable. Juvederm Ultra XC can be used just like regular Juvederm – for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. In clinical trials with the new formula, 94 percent of participants said Juvederm Ultra XC was less painful than regular Juvederm when injected into the nasolabial fold. To further minimize discomfort, Dr. Genter can numb the treatment area with local anesthetic.
After Juvederm: What to expect
The treated area may feel fuller than normal right after treatment, but this condition should resolve on its own quickly. Results of Juvederm will endure for about 6 months, but many patients can benefit from a follow-up treatment a few weeks later. Ask Dr. Genter if this follow-up treatment is right for you.
Documented side effects include redness, pain, firmness, swelling, lumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. A minor amount of bruising is normal after treatment with Juvederm.
