Fat Transfer/Injection

Fat transfer can augment soft tissues of the face to fill in contour depressions and renew your appearance.

Autologous fat grafting is a procedure that removes fat from one area of the body and places it in another to correct imperfections. Your thighs or abdomen get treated with liposuction and the fat is then purified before re-injection.

Fat Transfer: Who Can Benefit?

Fat grafting offers many of the same benefits as synthetic wrinkle fillers, and the results typically last longer. There are many applications for fat grafting; some of the common treatments will do the following:

  • Restore fullness to the cheeks
  • Restore volume beneath the eyes
  • Augment the contour of the brow or jaw line

Why You Need a Skilled Plastic Surgeon

For a good plastic surgeon, fat grafting is a relatively simple process. However, the procedure requires a meticulous technique and careful monitoring of the results. The amount of fat that survives the transfer will vary because some fat usually gets reabsorbed by your body. Dr. Genter has the experience to ensure your fat grafting procedure is successful.

After Fat Grafting: What to Expect

Small incisions will need to heal after your fat grafting procedure. There may be some minor tingling, swelling and bruising during the first week or two. To learn more about the risks, benefits or cost of fat grafting at Dr. Genter’s office, contact us to set up a surgery consultation.
