One plastic surgeon, who is unique in her field in that she is the first Arabic female plastic surgeon, hopes to share the benefits of reconstructive surgery through her notoriety.

29 year old, Dr. El Hativ is the first female Israeli plastic surgeon, according to Jewish Journal, a distinction she finds both encouraging and a responsibility. With that comes carrying the weight of speaking for her patients and showing that plastic surgery stretches far beyond cosmetic procedures, El Hativ said. Continue reading

Blepharoplasty May Help Those with Facial Paralysis

Often, these individuals are unable to completely close their eyes and suffer from dry, irritated eyes. Using pre- and post-operative assessments on nearly 40 of these individuals, researchers at the Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary found that patients had significantly improved quality of life after surgical intervention.
