Buttocks Augmentation

Many people know the buttocks are an important aesthetic characteristic, but not everybody has a satisfying degree of buttock projection and fullness. There are surgical methods of buttock augmentation that can enhance the shape, fullness and projection of the buttocks to correct this problem.

Butt implants come in different sizes and shapes, just as breast implants do. However, buttock implants are slightly firmer than breast implants.

Butt Implants: Who’s a Good Candidate?

Buttock implants are a good option for people who carry very little fatty tissue that could be used during a fat transfer procedure.

Butt Augmentation With Implants: What’s Involved?

A silicone gluteal implant is placed through vertical incisions in the crease of the patient’s buttock. While the implants can be placed above or below the gluteus maximus muscle, many plastic surgeons prefer to place them below the muscle in what is called a subfascial position.

For various reasons, many surgeons and patients prefer butt augmentation through fat transfer, a procedure known as the Brazilian butt lift. This method involves liposuction and lipoinjection techniques that add a significant volume of fat to the tissue of the buttocks.

Brazilian Butt Lift or Implants: Which Method is Right For Me?

If you desire larger, shapelier buttocks, it’s best to schedule a consultation with Dr. Genter so he can evaluate your needs personally. The risks, benefits and cost of either butt augmentation procedure can be discussed so you achieve an adequate understanding of each technique.
