Many people start to notice at a certain age that their brow has fallen or slightly descended, causing distinct lines to form and even worse, causing their facial expression to appear angry.
If this accurately describes you, a brow lift may be the appropriate solution to renew your appearance.
Brow Lift Surgery: What’s Involved?
The brow lift can involve several different surgical techniques. One of the preferred methods performed by plastic surgeons today involves the use of a surgical endoscope. During this endoscopic brow lift, the small fiber optic camera is used to view underlying tissues during surgery. 4 small incisions are made behind the hairline before the tissue is lifted, remodeled and sutured in a more appealing position.
The aesthetic goals of brow lift surgery include the following:
- Improved brow position
- Reduction of wrinkles/lines on forhead
- Reduction of wrinkles/lines between and around eyes
While the endoscopic brow lift is effective and considered minimally invasive, it isn’t right for everyone. There are other techniques such as the coronal or internal brow lift that may be utilized.
After Your Brow Lift: What to Expect
Recovery times vary, but most patients should expect 1-2 weeks of downtime after brow lift surgery. If staples or removable sutures are used, they get removed after the first week. After recovery is complete, the upper portions of your face and forehead should be smoother and imperfections such as crow’s feet and forehead lines will be significantly reduced.
